Serving and educating deprived community
The Allama Abul Khair Foundation (AAKF) is government-registered social welfare and humanitarian organization in Chittagong, Bangladesh. The foundation was founded in the name of a great personality of Chittagong, Allama Abul Khair, who was a man of knowledge and charity.
Who we are
Allama Abul Khair Foundation (AAKF) aspires to work for the satisfaction of Almighty Allah by creating an exploitation free society through educating a serving deprived people of society under the guidance of Islamic norms and principles.
The mission of Allama Abul khair Foundation (AAKF) is to truly follow the principles of Islam in serving humankind with a focus to:
- Helping the poor male and female children to get the light of education.
- Helping the poor students to get the opportunity to learn technological knowledge
- Promoting and advocating female education
- Protecting the core values of Islam with regard to education and social welfare
- Addressing relief and rehabilitation needs in response to natural and human-made disasters.
- Promoting justice for the disabled, elderly, starving, homeless and oppressed members of the under-served community.
Having fulfilled the requirements laid down by the government, AAKF has been registered as non-profit charity organization both under the Department of Social Services of the Ministry of Social Welfare (Reg. NO.:S.W.2890/09) and Non-governmental Affairs Bureau (Reg. No.: F.D.N.G.O. 2142) of the Government of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh. By virtue of registration and approval by the government, the foundation can run its activities by receiving cooperation and aid from well-wishers home and abroad.
Mohammad Sohail Saleh is the chairman of the organization and Hasan Mahmud Faisal is working as the secretary general of the foundation.
Our Projects
AAKF strongly focuses its efforts on bringing education close to deprived boys and girls of the community. The cost of earning education is not high. But the need to educate children and teach them true principles of Islam with a purpose to ensuring a moral and healthy generation is immense. Government has programs to ensure education for all. But it does not have program to promote morality and to teach Islam in order to create a moral and healthy generation with a sense of responsibility to society and people. Therefore we stand beside government to ensure that children in poor locality get the moral education and become a good and decent citizen.
Along with education and training programs, the foundation undertakes some regular social welfare activities in the society-
- Marriage help, widow help
- Care of orphan boys and girls
- Zakat Programs
- Water and Sanitation program.
It undertakes a health program and runs ”Khairia Hospital” to give the poor people access to free health services. People from all walks of life take service from this health complex.
- Winter Cloth Distribution
- Distribution of education materials to students from needy families
- Qurbani Program
- Iftar and Sehri program
- Eid cloth distribution.
- Humanitarian aid to Arakan Rohingya refugees staying in Bangladesh.
- Emergency aid to flood and cyclone affected victims.
