AAKF Humanitarian Aid Continues for Rohingya refugees

The influx of Rohingya Muslims continue to Bangladesh amid a new round of persecution and mass killings of Rohingya men, women and children in Rakhine State of Myanmar. More than half a million Rohingya refugees have crossed into Bangladesh since end of August 2017, fleeing a security crackdown that allegedly killed more than 3,000 Rohingyas and burned more than 284 villages of the Muslim minority. These Muslims refugees had no choice but to leave their homes in Myanmar to escape killings, rape and various types of oppression. Those who have fled into Bangladesh could take nothing but the clothes on their back. Arriving in Bangladesh, they are faced with an unimaginable humanitarian crisis living without foods, shelter, toilets, and treatment for those who are injured and raped. Relief activity has started from various sources but that is not adequate given the magnitude of the crisis.

In response to this unprecedented humanitarian crisis, AAKF is undertaking emergency relief activities for refugees in Cox’s bazar, Bangladesh.
